SPECIALTY COCKTAILS & LIVE MUSIC BRINGS EXCITEMENT TO DETROIT

Most Detroiters (…and Ryan Gosling) agree that Café D Mongo’s Speakeasy is the spot to spend your weekends sipping on specialty cocktails, listening to the tunes of the Carl while sitting back and admiring the nostalgic environment life long Detroiter and owner, Larry Mongo, has created.

Always a blast on Griswold Street.

Northern Michigan Gem.

For Metro-Detroiters, I-75 North leads to some pretty incredible places that we like to call “Up North”. Most families have their summer vacation spots that they traditionally visit and some are lucky enough to own a second home typically called a cottage or lake house. No matter the location or our reason for visiting “Up North” we all feel the same sense of Pure Michigan relaxation as soon as we arrive.

One of my favorite places “Up North” is Indian River, Exit 310. What began in 1976 as seven college buddies canoeing down a river has turned into a crazy group of friends that over the years have become family. We meet under the same tree, on the same beach, the same weekend in July. This weekend is spent mainly relaxing the day away at the beach or sitting around the campfire at the cabins, but we do manage to venture out for some good golf, eats and of course, lots of drinks.

A perfect place for Tradition & Memories.

Hostel Detroit

If you have had the opportunity to travel abroad you understand the difference between a quality hostel and a hostel from hell. Hostel Detroit is fantastic. It is clear the masterminds behind it know how important it is to have a good home base when exploring an unknown place. The idea of creating a place for travelers to “stay, explore, and learn about Detroit” was what motivated Emily Doerr to get the ball rolling. She, with the help of many volunteers and donations, opened Hostel Detroit’s doors in North Corktown in April of 2011 with the goal of teaching each visitor about the history and evolving future of the city. So not only was this place developed from a great idea, there’s a ton of heart and soul put into it. That “made with love” feeling is obvious when you walk through the colorful, clean, and comfortable rooms of the hostel on Vermont Street.

Welcome!
