When we were introduced to VOO Vodka, we went on a mission to convince our friends that it is the way to go when drinking vodka… anytime, anywhere! It is so clean, that even the anti- vodka drinker couldn’t deny its smooth flavor.
VOO Vodka is distilled and distributed right here in Michigan. It is distilled eight times versus the industry standard five times, which explains why there was no “burn” when you drink it.
VOO Vodka makes the perfect mixer in a cocktail:

We visited Detroit’s Motown Museum and had an amazing time learning about the history of American artists that changed the history of music. Watch the video to see the outside of the museum and click HERE to read all about the tour.
Over the weekend I was at the Eastern Market and came across the Stockyard food truck. I was intrigued by the unique sandwich combinations featured on their menu, so I decided to give it a try. When I got to the front of the line, I asked woman what her favorite sandwich was and she said the BLT Chorizo. So that’s what I went with it and all I can say is MMMMMMMMMMM!
BLT Chorizo Sandwich.
The Stockyard food truck is all over the place. So the best thing to do it sign up for location updates on their website or follow them on social media.
Their menu will vary from time to time but here are the prices from the day that I visited.
The Stockyard menu.
The vibe at the Stockyard food truck was simple and delicious. I could tell everything on the menu was specifically there for a reason and the sandwiches we crafted with thought and intent. I highly recommend this truck when you are in the mood for a unique sandwich experience.

We recently had the chance to giveaway a ride on The HandleBar where we joined the winners for a tour (bar crawl) of Downtown Detroit. We think it is safe to say that everyone had a blast and will most certainly find themselves sitting on those seats, pedaling around the D in the near future.

We were recently invited by an old high school friend to attend a show by Detroit Public Theatre at the Max Fisher in Midtown. We made an evening out of it, grabbing dinner at The Block and a few glasses of wine at the theater. As we walked in, we decided to sit front row and were so glad we did. The show was fantastic, keeping our interest from start to finish, begging for more!
Detroit Public Theatre produces world-class plays and programs with world-class writers, directors, actors, and designers in the heart of Midtown Detroit’s thriving cultural district. We invite Detroit audiences to experience bold plays that illuminate the thrills, joys, and challenges of our shared human experience.
3711 Woodward Avenue Detroit, MI
Tickets can range from $20 (student) to $45 (adult).
We had the pleasure of seeing Sex with Strangers written by Laura Eason, directed by Frannie Shepard-Bates, starring Matt Lockwood and Hallie Bee Bard. Don’t let the racy title fool you, it was a well written show that kept us intrigued and provided the audience with many moments of laughter, wonder (“should I look away? Oh, I can’t!” type moments) all while pulling at the heart strings.
They have shows that debut throughout the year, so stay up to date with their website.
