Guernsey Ice Cream: Delicious Michigan Made Dairy

Sunshine, lakes, up north, tan skin, cold drinks, bonfires, and cookouts… just a few of the favorites of summertime in Michigan.  But what about our country’s most popular sweet treat… ice cream? Now I’m not talking about the stuff from the chain places like Dairy Queen. I’m talking made in Michigan, fresh from the dairy farm, creamy ice cream from my personal favorite place, Guernsey. This family run business has been making incredible ice cream with local, hormone-free milk for 70 years. If that doesn’t convince you that it’s some of the best, then go check it out yourself. Go hungry, you can grab dinner in their restaurant serving up delicious home cooking then take a few steps over to the ice cream parlor & store to treat your sweet tooth.

The Garage Grill & Fuel Bar.

What started as a service station in the 1940’s has turned into a superb dining experience on the streets of Downtown Northville. In 2012 the building, that has been a gas station or two, a Chrysler car dealership, a dry cleaner, and a garden shop, was renovated and turned into a stylish place to grab some grub. Unlike the past, I’m confident The Garage Grill & Fuel Bar is here to stay.garage view
