Tre Monti Ristorante: A Unique Fine Dining Experience

We left Tre Monti Ristorante, named after the three mountains of San Marino, feeling like we could not wait to get back. Since it opened in 2008, it has been recognized for its excellence numerous times, including Hour Detroit’s 2013 Restaurant of the Year.  There is really no place like it. Impeccable service with white linen table clothes, quality dinnerware and outstanding Italian cuisine makes it a true fine dining experience.

Tre Monti’s success is a result of being operated by a passionate team. The restaurant is unique in the sense that it is run by experienced general manager, Zharko Palushaj, and talented executive chef, Marc Casadei, but a sophisticated board is also invested in maintaining a standard well beyond its competition.

A Seafood Extravaganza at Lakes Restaurant in Troy

Last week Courtney and I took a visit to Lakes Restaurant in Troy and as soon as we walked through the doors we knew this would be a night to remember. Everything about Lakes is different – and I mean that in a good way. The menu offers seafood options that are classic yet inspired. The decor has a traditional nautical feel but is unique and fun at the same time. And the service is formal yet welcoming – making Lakes a perfect spot for all occasions.

One of our favorite parts about Lakes, formally Charley’s Crab, was the obvious pride they had in the history of the restaurant. We learned that part of the structure was the former living room from one of the most elegant mansions of Grosse Pointe, the Macauley Mansion, built in 1929. If you look near the bar, there are pictures of the room dating back almost 84 years!
